"Daftar may be the enemy of all daughters:
you're the enemy of all the ladies, and you're the enemy of my honor." To
a certain extent, I am aware and can relate genuinely to the attitude of DaftarSitus Judi. I've no problem with Daftar's philosophy or the combat corruption
within the Maori community. However, after reading his recent article, I
believe his ideas aren't well thought out.
I am not ready to condemn someone simply because
they choose to join Maori women's movements. I believe every person has the
right to free speech and expression. However, I believe Daftar is using this
fight to help their own interests. His views and beliefs about the planet and
its attitudes towards Maori women are twisted and i think, he is attempting to
help their own interests in the Maori community at the trouble of others.

Most Maori women will agree that there's not
really a woman's reproductive role or right that's absolute or unbreakable. You
will find, however, many issues which should be addressed as the population numbers
increase.
What anyone views as offensive or hurtful,
another may view differently. I understand that Daftar thinks that the writer
of the controversial article had crossed the line, but once we stand today as a
culture, we have many issues which must be addressed. It is essential to take
into account those in the Maori communities and other people who don't share
the same views.
There are numerous issues concerning Maori law
and Maori gender equality, which require the interest of all of us in the Maori
community. It is essential that the Maori, Australian and American
nationalities have a speech in regards to this problem and all parties should
address any issues that are deserving of consideration. For Daftar to speak of
rape as a Maori "weapon" (which he did), shows so just how little he
understands or cares concerning the feelings of Maori women. The sexual
violence of days gone by and present needs to be discussed as it was, never as
Daftar believes it should be.
Many of these problems were not solved by
Western Australia or the United States. We need to hold our leaders accountable
for the issues of days gone by and the future, in addition to what we are able
to do to ease current concerns.
It is time that Daftar stood up and be counted
and produce a stand against his negative beliefs about Maori women. I really
hope Daftar can do this so that individuals can all unite and move forward.
